ROSEWOOD aims at building a trans-European network among stakeholders of the forestry value chain for the transfer of best practices and innovations in sustainable wood mobilisation. The project runs until 2020.

A set of 15 ground-breaking initiatives will gain international recognition, networking opportunities, personalised promotional material – including videos on their projects – and will be announced at an award ceremony in autumn 2019.
The contest is run by the Horizon 2020 project LIAISON which seeks to identify interactive rural innovation practices.
The BioCannDo project aims to help bridge awareness gaps, and inform about the potential and long-term benefits of a vibrant bioeconomy sector to the wider public.
It aims to show to the public that the bio-based economy offers something desirable, with new products, functionalities and day-to-day applications. The project runs until September 2019 and is funded by the Bio Based Industries Joint Undertaking under the European Union's Horizon 2020 programme.

The second meeting of the ENRD Thematic Group (TG) on 'Mainstreaming the Bioeconomy' (17 January 2019 - Brussels, Belgium) discussed different territorial and local approaches to developing bioeconomy in rural areas.
Different rural development stakeholders underlined the need to reflect local-level needs and priorities in bioeconomy strategies, the potential of bottom-up approaches, as well as the need to increase awareness and understanding of the opportunities bioeconomy provides at all levels.

The Bio-based Industries Joint Undertaking (BBI JU) is planning to contract a service provider in the first quarter of 2019 to perform a pilot study on the participation of the agricultural sector in BBI JU.
The study should focus on business models, challenges and recommendations to enhance the impact on rural development. All detailed information is available on the BBI JU website.
BBI JU - Bio-Based Industries Joint Undertaking - is a €3.7 billion Public-Private Partnership between the EU and the Bio-based Industries Consortium, operating under Horizon 2020.
