The ENRD Seminar 'Bioeconomy: seizing the opportunity for rural Europe' (Brussels, 3 July 2019) was an opportunity to share practical experiences of rural bioeconomy and discuss the use of RDPs and CAP Strategic Plans to support rural bioeconomy value chains.
The event included plenary sessions and working groups focusing on different aspects related to the bioeconomy: how to build a bio-based value chain, rural climate action through bio-based initiatives, building rural bioeconomies through smart villages, challenges to policy coherence, and regional approaches. The participants discussed the recommendations on the use of RDPs and CAP Strategic Plans elaborated by the ENRD Thematic Group on 'Mainstreaming the Bioeconomy'.
The event also launched a new ENRD publication on rural bioeconomy.
