The Swedish National Network for Rural Development

Stall description

The Swedish NRN jointly with the Finnish NRN, have many members actively working to give voice to young people in rural areas, including a number of LAGs. Young people are, of course, not a homogeneous group. They have different passions and engage with different parts of society, be it business, civil society or democracy. In this stall you will find links to interesting young perspectives on climate change, youth inclusion, youth culture in rural areas and youth entrepreneurship. You will also find information about the perspectives of young Sami associations in Finland and Sweden. You will be able to meet young people every day from 13.00-13.30 in our Mixed Youth Panel (via Zoom – all questions allowed). You will also find material which may inspire your work to create more inclusive rural areas and find links to actors in Finland and Sweden who work specifically with young people on different topics. We are always keen to meet actors in the field of international cooperation.

  • Involving Youth In Rural Development
Imagine rural areas where young people thrive, voice their opinions and influence what happens in society. Where people of all ages meet and jointly contribute to the development of their villages with skills, energy and ideas. In this film, four young people from the High Coast of Sweden share their tips about how to include youth in rural development. The key: listen to them, genuinely listen.
