Joutsenten Reitti LAG in SW-Finland is now looking for LEADER partners in other EU counties that have secondary (rural) airports in their territory or close to their territory. We expect the partner candidates to be committed and well networked on their territories in terms of international logistics development.
This cooperation proposals deals with logistics cooperation and air traffic, both cargo and people. The Chinese are interested and motivated to build their logistics cooperation network in Europe more effective and covering. In spite of Finland’s peripheral location in the EU, we have a gateway position (from the Schengen area) with air traffic to and from China. The Finnish air company Finnair is among the biggest foreign operators in the Chinese market. For example Finnish rural tourism has been benefiting from this in many ways.
The proposed cooperation starts with a feasibility study, where the potential of each interested airport will be evaluated first with a simple questionnaire.
