Do you have a service, product, or business idea that uses satellite navigation in agriculture or forestry? Then sign up for the European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC). If you have solutions which rely on Earth observation data, then sign up for the Copernicus Masters. Both of these competitions provide cash prizes, business support and networking opportunities.

European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC)

Calling all entrepreneurs, SMEs, start-ups and researchers, the European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC) is looking for ground-breaking business ideas, services, or products addressing the commercial use of satellite navigation - including in the fields of agriculture and forestry.

This competition rewards innovative applications using satellite navigation with the potential to improve production, efficiency, profitability and to reduce environmental impact. Its annual search for new services, products, and business innovations in this sector is designed to encourage the use of satellite navigation in everyday life.

The competition is divided into a number of application fields. One of these fields is ‘Agriculture and Forestry’. Former successful projects in this category are projects such as: next generation of farm management software that integrates modern precision technology, a system for Investigating the Cause and Origin of Forest Fires and a system for monitoring animal population to assess environmental quality parameters. Across the different application fields, the prize pool for the international competition is worth 1 million € and includes cash prizes, business incubation, coaching, market & feasibility studies, prototype development, patent consulting, marketing support, publicity.

Launch your business with big data from space

Visionary teams and individuals from the realms of business, research, and higher education can apply to the Copernicus Masters. Geared towards entrants from all over the world, this international competition is on the hunt for outstanding ideas, applications, and business concepts for the use of Earth observation data in everyday life.

The prizes are granted to various topic-specific challenges. Along with cash prizes, the winners will receive access to a leading international network, corresponding data, startup funding, and other support valued at more than EUR 1.5 M in total.
