LIFT, boosting the bioeconomy

Boosting the bioeconomy by maximising the results of Coordination and Support Actions (CSAs)

The creation of the innovation ecosystem for the bioeconomy has been facilitated by the activity of several coordination and supporting actions (CSA), funded by the European Commission in the last decade.  

What is a CSA? “After the adoption of the Bioeconomy Strategy in 2012, several Coordination and Support Actions, also known as CSAs, have been funded by the 6th and 7th Framework Programmes, Horizon 2020 including the BBI JU, Interreg and other European programmes, producing a considerable amount of valuable knowledge, networks and activities inter alia.” They include projects such as BioCannDo, BIOREGIO, ENABLING and many more all focusing on the European circular bioeconomy.  

BBI-Ju project LIFT analysed 64 projects and initiatives, and facilitated Mobilisation and Mutual Learning activities, to provide a comprehensive overview of project’s outcomes, gaps still to be bridged and recommendations for the stakeholders. 

LIFT has created the Bioeconomy Library that collects all of the knowledge in once place.  To present its results, LIFT conducted a series of thematic webinars, involving more than 1200 participants from 32 countries between March and April 2020.
