World Food Research and Innovation Forum

The universal right to adequate, safe and appropriate food to meet nutritional needs, calls for a constructive dialogue between organizations and national and international authorities responsible for the management of food safety and the different regulatory approaches to which they refer.

A strategic relationship must be established between Institutions, Research and Business systems to facilitate global cooperation in order to guarantee this Right. The World Food Research and Innovation Forum has launched a permanent platform for discussion and debate.

The Forum intends to enhance the contribution provided by research – all along the food supply chain – to decision-makers for the development and deployment of a model based on three pillars: security, safety and sustainability. In addition, the solutions to global challenges cannot be limited only to technological innovation but must also take into account organizational innovation, to enhance worldwide models of excellence.

The Forum will provide an open and innovative worldwide platform that is able to foster dialogue among all stakeholders and factors in play, with a view to creating common spaces for dialogue and analysis of issues relating to food security, food safety and sustainability. This will contribute to strengthening global governance for the development of balanced policies that should foster new relationships between the industrialized and developing countries.
