Less talk, more action: turning the soil story around

As part of the Forum for the Future of Agriculture, the RISE Foundation will be holding a session on soil.

Soil has continued to deteriorate with too little attention given to the systems and practices which could halt and reverse the decline in soil health. We already know the changes in practices at the farm level which could make a difference.

- What is inhibiting progress towards sustainable soil management?

- It is in the farmers’ own interest to invest in their soils, what is stopping them in doing so?

- What are the barriers to adopting sustainable soil management practices?

- What mix of regulation and changed incentives could turn this around?

- What role can the food chain, up and downstream of farmers play in the process?

- Where does their responsibility lie?

- What is the appropriate sharing of responsibility for bringing about sustainable soil management?

These are some of the questions that the RISE Foundation they want to address in this webinar.
