The UNAC - Union for the Mediterranean Forest - will hold, on 3 April, the Seminar "FORESTRY 4.0 - DIGITALIZATION IN CREATING VALUE AND COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES FOR FOREST MANAGEMENT AND PRODUCTION" ("FLORESTA 4.0- DIGITALIZAÇÃO NA CRIAÇÃO DE VALOR E DE VANTAGENS COMPETITIVAS PARA A GESTÃO E PRODUÇÃO FLORESTAL").

Digital technology represents an enormous development potential for forest management and production. Digital technologies such as cloud computing, mobile devices, IoT (Internet of Things) platforms, remote sensing, smart sensors and big data analysis and algorithms are just a few examples, increasingly in use.

Can this wide range of digital technologies help create value for forest production? What already exists? Can we have "forest-based digital ecosystems"? How to integrate and develop this technology in support of forest management?

These are some of the issues we want to discuss, identifying concrete cases and development needs.
