Marek Belka is a member of the European Parliament since 2019. He is a member of the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee and a substitute member of the International Trade Committee. He is also professor of Economics at the College of Europe in Natolin and LSE Institute of Global Affairs.
From 2010 to 2016, Mr Belka was President of Narodowy Bank Polski and Chairman of the Monetary Policy Council.
Mr Belka is a former Prime Minister of Poland (2004 – 2005) and also served twice as Minister of Finance.
He has published over 100 scientific papers devoted primarily to the theory of money and anti-inflation policy in developing countries. He specializes in applied economics and contemporary economic thought.
