Matt Brittin

Vice President, Northern and Central Europe, Google.

Matt Brittin is Vice President of Google for Northern and Central Europe. He manages teams across twelve countries that help consumers and businesses make the most of the internet.

Mr. Brittin joined Google in January 2007 to lead UK Sales, becoming managing director for the UK and Ireland in early 2009 and taking on European responsibilities in October 2011. Before joining Google, he spent much of his career in media and marketing, with particular interests in strategy, commercial development and sales performance. From April 2006 to January 2007, Mr. Brittin was Director of Strategy and Digital at Trinity Mirror plc (public limited company), one of the UK’s largest newspaper publishers, and he was commercial director at Trinity from March 2004 to April 2006. Before that he spent six years as a consultant with McKinsey & Company and six years as a chartered surveyor with Connell Wilson.

Matt Brittin has an MBA from London Business School and an MA from Cambridge University. He is a non-executive director of Sainsbury’s, the UK retailer, and a board trustee for the charities Media Trust and the Climate Group. He represented Great Britain in rowing at the 1988 Olympics and has won several world championship medals in the sport.
