Beatrice Weder di Mauro

Chair, International Macroeconomics, Johannes-Gutenberg-University Mainz.

Beatrice Weder di Mauro has held the Chair of International Macroeconomics at Johannes-Gutenberg-University Mainz since 2001. She is a research fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) in London, a member of the Committee on International Economic and Policy Research at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C., and currently chairs the Global Agenda Council on Fiscal Crisis of the World Economic Forum.

Previously, Professor Weder di Mauro served as a member of the German Council of Economic Experts from 2004 to 2012, was on the Swiss Council of Economic Advisors from 2002 to 2004 and was an advisor to the Austrian Vice Chancellor from 2009 to 2011.

From 1994 to 1996, Professor Weder di Mauro worked as an economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). She has been a regular visiting scholar within the research department of the IMF.

Beatrice Weder di Mauro has been visiting professor or member of staff at The World Bank, Harvard University, the National Bureau of Economic Research, the Federal Reserve Board of New York, and the United Nations University in Tokyo.

Professor Weder di Mauro is a member of the supervisory boards of Roche (Basel), Thyssen-Krupp (Essen), and the Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft (DEG, Köln). Her academic research addresses international monetary and financial policy-related issues. She holds a PhD from the University of Basel.
