Use public services across the EUDIGITAL eID transforms how you can access online public services in other countries. Whether you are a visitor, a new mover or already well settled in your new host country, DIGITAL eID allows you to access services with the same national eID that you have always used. Previously, EU citizens who moved to a new EU country and wanted to access online public services would need to either apply for a local eID, or even have to go in person to the public services office. Thanks to the eIDAS network, many national eID schemes are now mutually recognisable. This means that, in many cases, you can use your national eID means to access online public services in other EU countries. |
