Join discussion of World Bank report on European Green Deal on 25 April

Join this event presenting and discussing the World Bank report “Making the European Green Deal Work for People: The Role of Human Development in the Green Transition” on 25 April at 14:30-16:00.

You are invited to a joint event of the European Commission (EC) and the World Bank to discuss the findings of a timely new report called Making the European Green Deal Work for People: The Role of Human Development in the Green Transition.

At a time when the world is grappling with many overlapping crises, including the impacts of climate change, the report identifies and reviews the different types of human development policy choices that can support a successful green transition envisioned by the 2020 European Green Deal (EGD).

Following the presentation by the report authors, a panel of experts from the EC, World Bank, think tank Circular Economy, and the EC’s Joint Research Centre, will use the findings to consider:

  • how we can make the Green Deal work for people
  • how we can mitigate its unintended consequences and costs
  • how we can help people adapt to a new economic equilibrium which will have to prioritize environmental sustainability

We look forward to welcoming you in person or via a Webex link.
