Glossary:Evapotranspiration

Evapotranspiration describes the water transported into the atmosphere by evaporation from the ground, wetlands and natural water bodies and by the transpiration of plants. It is the sum of evaporation and plant transpiration and is a measure of the loss of water from the Earth's land surface.
