The narrowing education gap between women and men - Issue number 130/2007 - Products Statistics in Focus
Educational attainment levels in the EU have tended to increase almost continuously over the last decades as a growing proportion of young people have gone on from compulsory schooling to upper secondary programmes and from there to tertiary education. Whereas the number of women of working age who had completed tertiary education used to be significantly smaller than the number of men, it is now only marginally less.
