Social rights are a key priority of the European Commission which has placed such concerns at the heart of its work to assess and guide labour market and welfare policies and on building a deeper and fairer economic and monetary union. The European Pillar of Social Rights, proposed by the Commission, will serve as a compass for national reforms and convergence within the euro area.
