Akce pořádané u příležitosti 10. Výročí vstupu české republiky do Evropské Unie
V roce 2014 si Česká republika připomene 10. výročí vstupu do Evropské unie. Při této příležitosti připravuje Úřad vlády ČR, Zastoupení Evropské komise v ČR a Informační kancelář Evropského parlamentu v ČR ve spolupráci s dalšími partnery řadu akcí určených široké i odborné veřejnosti. Cílem těchto aktivit bude podnítit diskusi jak o dosavadních zkušenostech s členstvím, tak o budoucím směřování ČR v EU i Unie jako celku.

Open air akce pro veřejnost v Praze
V rámci připomenutí desátého výročí se uskuteční 29. a 30. dubna od 14:00 do 21:00 hod. dvoudenní festival pod otevřeným nebem na Střeleckém ostrově s kulturním a informačním programem na hlavním pódiu. Po oba dny se budou konat moderované diskuze s umělci a politickými komentátory o EU a roli ČR v ní či večerní koncert moderní hudby. Veřejnosti budou také k dispozici informační stánky velvyslanectví členských zemí EU, Evropské agentury pro globální navigační systém (GSA), Ministerstva pro místní rozvoj ČR (prezentace projektů spolufinancovaných z fondů EU), informační stánky dalších partnerů, promítání dokumentárních filmů vytvořených nevládními organizacemi a spolufinancovaných z programu Evropa pro občany.
Součástí akce bude prezentace iniciativy Evropské unie Mládež v pohybu, při níž se veřejnost seznámí s programy a nástroji EU na podporu vzdělávání, odborné přípravy, zaměstnávání, podnikání nebo mobility mladých lidí.
Chybět nebude ani bohatý program pro rodiny s dětmi.
Akce je pořádána pod záštitou předsedy vlády Bohuslava Sobotky a primátora hlavního města Prahy Tomáše Hudečka.
Vstup je zdarma.

Na Střeleckém ostrově od 10.00 do 18.00 hod. bude na pontonu na Vltavě představena iniciativa EU Mládež v pohybu, která seznámí návštěvníky s možností studia, stáží a pracovních příležitostí v zahraničí. Dozvíte se vše, co vás zajímá o programu Erasmus+, díky kterému můžete vycestovat do zemí EU za studiem i praxí.
Celebrating the historic 2004 EU enlargement
1 May 2014 marks the 10th anniversary of the biggest EU enlargement ever. In 2004, the Czech Republic and nine other former “Eastern bloc” countries joined the European family.
A variety of events celebrating the EU accession have been taking place around Prague for the last week., including exhibitions, debates and conferences, cultural events, competitions and festivals. More events are happening in the regions around the country until the end of May.
In this context, the European Commission joined forces with the City of Prague to organise an impressive open-air festival on Strelecky ostrov (an island on the Vltava river in the centre of Prague).
One of the important highlights of the festival is the Youth on the Move tent floating on the river. The many visitors to the Youth on the Move event can take in the magnificent view of Charles Bridge, Prague old town and the Castle. The sun and flourishing chestnuts trees leave no doubt that spring has arrived in the Czech capital. Could you imagine better surroundings in which to learn about the EU?
“10 years ago the Czech Republic decided to embark on the European project that has been influencing the life of every Czech citizen ever since. The European Union has largely opened a whole world of perspectives for young people. Be it by participating in programmes like Erasmus, by volunteering or by learning new skills through the European Social Fund, young Czechs are hugely improving their chances on the job market. That way they are creating a better future for themselves, their families, their country and Europe” said Jan Michal, Head of European Commission Representation to the Czech Republic.
The Youth on the Move event in Prague lasts until late evening on 30 April. Besides the information stands on EURES, Erasmus+, Europass and others, it offers a rich programme of presentations and debates. It aims to inspire young people to study, train, research and work abroad. Young entrepreneurs for their part can gather information at the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs stand.
The Strelecky ostrov open-air festival also offers information about all EU countries through the presence of embassies, the EU structural funds as well as other activities by the Ministry of Regional Development.
In these beautiful surroundings, filled with inspiring information, visitors can enjoy a rich cultural programme of concerts, open-air cinema and many other performances. Several thousand people were at the concert of the famous Czech band the Tata Bojs on the evening of 29 April alone.
