Description

This year's Expolingua in Berlin attracted more than 13 000 visitors. The large majority, the young and young at heart from 8 to 80, was drawn to the centrally positioned stand of the European Commission. The visitors were mainly interested in finding out how to study, learn or work abroad or how to spend a volunteering period in another country. Through the partners at the stand they could also find information about how the German Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs uses EU-funding to promote social integration through international exchange and how to become a translator for the EU. The topics had one element in common: languages are the key to broadening your horizons. Visitors had fun testing their knowledge of the EU at the wheel of fortune. The world-wide rapper LMNZ and his crew got the crowds moving with multilingual rap songs and flash mobs. Presentations and interactive mini language courses as well as a conference on "Languages and mobility" attracted many visitors. To feel the mood, check out the photographs and video.
