Non-accessible content
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of the ‘Statistical Atlas’, we are aware of some limitations. We plan to improve some of these in the first half of 2026. Below is a description
of known limitations and potential solutions. Please contact us if you encounter an issue not listed below.
Known limitations for the ‘Statistical Atlas’ web tool are:
-
All maps are not navigable by keyboard and provide information relying only on colour. However, maps not intended for navigational use are out of scope of the
applicable legislation.
-
There is no or insufficient visible focus for keyboard navigation in the map tools and the atlas controls. We plan to improve this in the first half of 2026.
- The PDF version of the maps is not accessible.
- The map dimensions selection menu may be difficult for some screen reader users to navigate due to invalid markup.
- The alternative table view cannot be scrolled without a mouse (keyboard navigation is missing).
-
The map tooltips are not properly described for blind users. However, since the map contains hundreds of tooltips, it does not provide an efficient user
experience for those using a screen reader. We propose a table view as an alternative.
- The info icon in the header lacks a proper description for screen reader users.
