Executive Vice-Presidents Mînzatu and Fitto in Poland to discuss the future of Cohesion Policy and the social agenda

This week, Executive Vice-Presidents for Social Rights, Skills, Quality Jobs, and Preparedness Roxana Mînzatu and for Cohesion and Reforms Raffaele Fitto will be in Kraków, Poland, to discuss the future or Cohesion Policy and its contribution to Europe’s competitiveness, growth and social agenda.

EVP Fitto will start the visit on today 29 January with a meeting with the Polish Minister for Development Funds and Regional Policy, Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, to share views about the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) and the future of Cohesion Policy. He will also visit the nazi extermination camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau, coinciding with the 80th anniversary of its liberation by the allied forces.

On Thursday, 30 January, EVP’s Mînzatu and Fitto will participate in the conference organised by the Polish Presidency of the Council on “The European Way of Growth: A Growth Policy for a Secure, Resilient, and Globally Competitive European Union”.

The two Executive Vice-Presidents will open the conference alongside Minister Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, and the Mayor of Kraków, Aleksander Miszalski. They will address the role of Cohesion Policy as a tool for strengthening Europe’s security and competitiveness, its achievements and challenges ahead, as well as its social dimension.

Executive Vice President Mînzatu will also meet with Monika Sikora, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy
