Woodpark: An EU supported initiative for wood reuse in Brussels

Brussels takes a step forward in its sustainability journey with the inauguration of Woodpark, an initiative dedicated to promoting the reuse of wood from construction and deconstruction sites.

The Woodpark project, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the IRISPHERE program, is an initiative in Brussels aimed at facilitating the reuse of wood from construction and deconstruction sites. Currently, the project operates through two workshops located near Anderlecht, which serve as hubs for storage, preparation for reuse, transformation, training, and the development of new products through research and development (R&D).

The ERDF support stresses the EU’s commitment to fostering local, sustainable solutions to reduce environmental impact and stimulate the circular economy across its Member States. Woodpark serves as a model of this vision, offering practical and operational solutions for professionals in the building sector to repurpose wood materials, which would otherwise go to waste.
