- 17 February 2025

A new leaflet, illustrating the seven Interreg programmes implemented on the European Union’s Eastern borders with Ukraine and the thematic fields of intervention, has recently been published in both English and Ukrainian languages.
By showing pictures of “Stories from the field” and briefly describing concrete examples of Interreg projects implemented in Ukraine, the leaflet provides useful and easy-read information on the external cooperation with the EU neighbouring country, where Interreg brings direct and tangible benefits to the region and its citizens, even in a time of turmoil.
The leaflet contributes to raising awareness on a strong and lasting partnership between the European Union and Ukraine, as well as on the importance of fostering mutual cooperation among partner countries.
The leaflet focuses on Interreg projects in Ukraine that tackle development of healthcare system, including support to hospitals, disaster risk management of the environment, education and border mobility, crucial for the smoother flow of goods, bringing an important contribution to the European Union’s efforts to help this country face up to the consequences of the Russia's full-scale invasion.
In the future, the benefits of cooperation will continue to be experienced by all the people and territories involved, through the continuation of hundreds of projects bringing sustainable regional development and continuous empowerment of local actors.
