EVP Raffaele Fitto in Croatia to discuss Cohesion Policy and the Recovery and Resilience Facility

On Monday, Executive Vice-President Raffaele Fitto will be in Zagreb to engage with Croatian leaders on the practical implementation and the future of Cohesion Policy, as well as on the delivery of the Croatian Recovery and Resilience Plan and overall progress with the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). His agenda includes meetings with Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, ministers, and national and local representatives.

During his time in Zagreb, EVP Fitto will have the opportunity to exchange on Croatia’s demographic challenges as well as on opportunities arising from the upcoming Cohesion Policy’s mid-term review, including in addressing priorities such as the New European Bauhaus and access to affordable housing. These engagements underscore the EU’s dedication to fostering economic, social, and territorial cohesion, while supporting regions and cities to thrive sustainably and inclusively.

The day’s agenda will start with a discussion with Prime Minister Plenković, followed by an opening speech at the Annual Recovery and Resilience Facility Conference, where EVP Fitto will address the green transition, competitiveness, and the benefits of the RRF for Croatian citizens and businesses. He will then meet with Minister of Finance Marko Primorac, before attending a working lunch hosted by the Minister for Regional Development and EU Funds Šime Erlić. In the afternoon, the Executive Vice-President will be meeting representatives of the Association of Cities in Croatia, the Croatian Union of Municipalities, the Croatian County Association and several mayors. EbS will cover the visit.
