The 2023 REGIOSTARS Awards, Europe’s label of excellence for EU-funded projects under Cohesion Policy

Tomorrow, the winners of the 2023 REGIOSTARS Awards will be announced at 10:00 CET during a hybrid ceremony hosted in Ostrava, Czechia, by Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, Elisa Ferreira

For the 2023 edition, a total of 228 applications were submitted from across the EU, all of which are competing for the top prize across six categories: A competitive and smart Europe; A green Europe; A connected Europe; A social and inclusive Europe; A Europe closer to the citizens; and the topic of the year category (2023 European Year of Skills).

These categories reflect the policy objectives of the 2021-2027 programming period, along with a specific topic established for each competition. In addition to the six categories, the public are also invited to vote for their favourite project amongst the finalists. This year’s 30 project finalists, selected by an external jury, are coming from a range of EU countries - Belgium, Bulgaria, Czechia, France, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Spain.

Since its inception in 2008, the REGIOSTARS Awards recognise innovative and ground-breaking EU-funded projects under Cohesion Policy with the goal of inspiring other regions and project managers across Europe to follow in their footsteps. The yearly competition has become Europe’s label of excellence for EU-funded projects, which demonstrate the impact and inclusiveness of regional development.

You can watch the awards ceremony live on the 2023 REGIOSTARS website.
