OurEU

How to increase awareness of the benefits of cohesion policy across Malta, reaching a maximum number of people through various media? This was the challenge met by the “OurEU” project, managed by Corporate Identities Ltd. The project aimed at educating the general public about cohesion policy’s positive impact in a campaign running from September 2020 to August 2021.

The focus was on around 60 projects implemented through the financial assistance of the Cohesion Funds which have had a tangible impact on the social and economic spheres of Malta. They ranged from COVID-related to cultural heritage to employment and social inclusion. The campaign was delivered through a content-driven effort across a wide range of traditional and online media. A number of projects were featured every month on the dedicated website oureu.mt. This content and other key points about the project were then adapted to the other media channels, including banners on online news portals, adverts in newspapers, as well as detailed articles posted in print media and online portals. Some projects were also featured in EU-related radio and TV programmes. The project also has its own Facebook and Instagram accounts with consistent posting on the projects while seeking to engage with the largest audiences possible.

 The communication actions implemented as part of “OurEU” were very popular. The figures speak for themselves:

  • 4 093 people reached on Facebook
  • 118,541 Instagram impressions
  • Nearly 16m ad impressions across multiple websites
