“Cohesion Chronicles”

  • 06 September 2024

How to increase awareness of the benefits of cohesion policy among people across 13 EU Member States? This was the challenge met by the “Cohesion Chronicles” project, managed by France Médias Monde. The project ran an awareness-raising campaign running from September 2022 to August 2023.

France Médias Monde (FMM) and RFI România implemented a 12-month transmedia and multilingual information campaign based on the production and broadcasting of radio and TV reports 13 European territories (Bulgaria, France, Finland, Czech Republic, Latvia, Hungary, Romania, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Belgium, Greece, Italy); and 5 outermost regions (Guadeloupe, Martinique, Reunion, Mayotte, Guyana). Programmes and articles produced covered all aspects of cohesion policy across the 13 countries involved, with a particular focus on JTF and green transition issues.

The communication actions implemented as part of “Cohesion Chronicles” were very popular. The figures speak for themselves:

  • 24 radio reports (22 in French, 1 in English, 1 in Spanish),
  • 10 photo slideshows
  • 11 articles (8 in French, 2 in Portuguese and 1 in Spanish)
  • 23 videos (19 in French, 2 in English, 2 in Spanish)
  • 8 TV programs, 14 field reports and 6 fact-checking modules in French and English
  • 28 radio programs in Romanian
  • 27 video modules, 5 portrait videos and 40 cards in Romanian
  • Audience of 28 million people across Europe (15m via tv and radio, 13m across all related social media accounts)
