Today, the 9th Cohesion Forum kicks-off! The official programme of the Cohesion Forum starts at 13:30 with a video message by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. In addition to the President Ursula von der Leyen, key speakers at the Cohesion Forum include the Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, and Commissioners Nicolas Schmit and Elisa Ferreira.
The two-day event provides an opportunity to reflect on the state of economic, social, and territorial cohesion in the EU, the impact that Cohesion Funds have on the daily lives of millions of Europeans, the role of cities in regional development, how EU and national policies can play their part in ensuring greater cohesion, and how Cohesion Policy can better support regions and Member States in their green, digital, and demographic transitions.
The event will also be an opportunity to discuss the key findings from the 9th Report on Economic, Social and Territorial Cohesion published last month and to reflect on lessons learned from recent years to ensure the strengthening and continued modernisation of the Policy.
