The Interreg Alpine Space Programme invites stakeholders and the Alpine community to celebrate its 25th anniversary in Salzburg, 12–14 May 2025, with keynote speeches, thematic workshops, and networking opportunities.
Cooperation, Legacy, and Change: Interreg Alpine Space Turns 25
- 08 April 2025

The Interreg Alpine Space programme co-finances and supports cooperation projects across the borders of seven Alpine countries. Since its creation in 2000, more than 200 projects have been co-financed to address common challenges and enhance the quality of life for the region's 80 million inhabitants. To celebrate this milestone, the 25th anniversary celebration will bring together stakeholders from across the Alpine region to reflect on the programme's achievements, recognise its legacy and explore the future of transnational cooperation in the Alps.
Over the three days, participants will engage in insightful discussions, workshops and field visits focusing on the transformation of the region. The event will celebrate the impact of co-financed projects that have addressed common challenges, promoted cooperation and contributed to the sustainable development of the region.
Additionally, the event will serve as a platform to shape the future of the Alpine region, with a focus on the transition to a carbon-neutral and climate-resilient territory. Participants will explore innovative solutions, exchange knowledge, strengthen cross-border partnerships, and take part in the launch of Call 3 for Classic project applications.
This anniversary offers an opportunity to connect with experts, partners and stakeholders from seven Alpine countries and contribute to the vision of a sustainable future for the Alpine region.
