Cluster Eco-construction

 The Eco-construction cluster was created in 2002 in Namur where there was an urgent need to address the coordination of SME activities in 'up and coming' sectors. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry, assisted by the Economic Office in the Province of Namur, initiated this project along with ten SMEs from the eco-construction sector which were selected on the basis of their motivation and expertise. These SMEs have cooperated with public and private entities in order to develop new processes and products.Watch the video

The Energy Competence Centre in Böbingen an der Rems has been set up in the rural area of Ostalb, Baden Württemberg as part of the region's Rural Development Programme. The Centre offers future clients, building companies, architects and other interested parties comprehensive information about techniques, products, support and trends in the sector of low energy construction.

The National Renewable Energies Centre (CENER)

The National Renewable Energies Centre (CENER) is an industrial technology centre dedicated to the research, development and promotion of renewable energy in Spain. Its purpose is to identify, generate, disseminate and transfer scientific-technical knowledge and value-added services to the renewable energy sector. This is done by collaborating with companies, institutions and official organisations to promote the development of renewable energies on a national level and also contributes to advancing this sector to an outstanding position in the world. The goal is it to become Spain's industrial reference centre for renewable energies and one of the leading centres in Europe.

The inter-regional ENCOURAGE partnership aims to promote environmental management practices in the business parks of five European new towns by adapting a management method used for green buildings in the French region of Ile-de-France. ENCOURAGE is a six year project (2002-2008) co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund under the INTERREG IIIB programme initiated by the Syndicat d'Agglomération Nouvelle (SAN) from Sénart (Ile-de-France) in partnership with Southeast Wales (Torfaen, UK), Hertfordshire (Stevenage, UK) and Zuid-Holland (Zoetermeer, the Netherlands).

Cybermassif

Cybermassif is a network of information technology centres (hereafter called “resource centres”) located in the French Massif Central region. The head of network is an association also called Cybermassif. The objective of the network is to facilitate the diffusion of information and communication technologies (ICT) among small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). The project focuses on ICT usage rather than infrastructures (e.g. on how to use Internet correctly and how to use computer resources to enable SME activities).

Optimisation of the Socorridos Hydro power station Madeira

This project concerns optimisation of the Socorridos Hydroelectric Power Station in use since 1995. It is the largest and most important hydraulic system for production of water for public supply, irrigation and hydro energy in Madeira. The project represents an important step forward in the process of taking advantage of renewable energy sources, particularly of eolic origin.

POWER - Pushing Offshore Wind Energy Regions

The Pushing Offshore Wind Energy Regions (POWER) is an INTERREG IIIB project focusing on the nascent offshore wind energy sector, which has succeeded in creating the first North Sea competence network for the associated industries. The project itself is a transnational collaboration, which assesses environmental, planning and acceptance issues related to offshore wind farms, supports the development of a reliable supply chain for the sector, as well as elaborating skills development measures. This has been achieved through the creation of a common platform for discussion, exchange and transnational initiatives.
