Trans-European Networks (TENs)

Sadržaj

Trans-European Networks consist of cross-border transport and energy infrastructures. Their purpose is to support and enhance the functioning of the European single market by facilitating the free movement of goods, people and services. Actions under the TENs must promote the interoperability of national networks and facilitate access to them.

To improve transport connectivity, the ERDF and the Cohesion Fund should promote the development of a trans-European transport network, as referred to in Regulation (EU) No 1315/2013, through investment in infrastructure for railway transport, inland waterway transport, road transport, maritime transport and multimodal transport, including noise reduction measures.

In the new regulations on cohesion policy2021-2027, the development of Trans-European Networks for Transport (TEN-T) is specifically mentioned as a priority through investment in infrastructure for railway transport, inland waterway transport, road transport, maritime transport and multimodal transport, including noise reduction measures from the ERDF and the Cohesion Fund within policy objective 3.
