In the province of Forlì-Cesena, in central Italy, the European Union has helped a network of medium-sized cities and rural areas to share resources, encouraging sustainable growth and improving the local quality of life. The University of Bologna’s centre for food and agro-industrial research is based in Cesena. Part-financed by the EU, it helps local businesses and food growers to improve their products and boost exports, through research, advice and cooperation.
