MOOC – Online course on Cohesion Policy

MOOC

The European Commission has teamed up with six European universities and two journalist associations to create a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) called Covering Cohesion Policy in Europe. It is a free-to-use, interactive e-learning platform available in all EU languages.

The course aims to address gaps in journalism education and to promote knowledge about Cohesion Policy. It is designed for journalism students, professionals, and anyone interested in EU affairs.

It covers key areas such as:

  • EU governance
  • Cohesion Policy
  • tools available to find data about the EU
  • cross-border reporting
  • digital journalism

Structured into 14 modules, the course spans a full semester. The course can be accessed via the project website.

The MOOC was developed by a consortium of institutions, including:

  • Technical University of Dortmund (Germany)
  • University of Porto (Portugal)
  • University of Wrocław (Poland)
  • Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca (Romania)
  • Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece)
  • AP University of Antwerp (Belgium)

This MOOC brings the world of Cohesion Policy to a classroom near you. It is a great example of pan-European cooperation between universities and shows what can be achieved when we work together. I hope that many journalism students will take the course and feel inspired to talk about Cohesion Policy’s role for long-term, sustainable and balanced growth across the EU.
