Programme description
The programme will invest in the digital and green transition, in innovation and in reducing the disparities between the capital city Bucharest and Ilfov, the surrounding region. Smart growth will be supported through investments in research, by strengthening local research infrastructures, and by promoting cooperation between businesses and research organisations and entrepreneurship. The programme will reinforce the digitalisation of public administration to offer citizens better access to modern public services. Smart growth will be underpinned by improving equal access to quality and inclusive education.
Actions to improve the energy efficiency of public and residential buildings and reducing greenhouse gas emissions will promote a greener, low-carbon Europe. In addition, the programme will support earthquake-protection measures and develop climate-resilient urban spaces.
Sustainability will be enhanced through sustainable multimodal urban mobility as part of the transition to a zero-carbon economy.
