Programme description
The main objectives of the regional programme for Warmia and Mazury are:
- Strengthening economic and social potential of the region,
- Fostering integrated, sustainable and smart development of Warmia and Mazury region,
- Ensuring high quality of life for all its citizens,
The programme will increase business activity through its support for digitalisation of the public sector and small enterprises and its support to research and development infrastructure and entrepreneurship.
In the area of environment and climate, the programme will continue investments in renewable energy sources and in improving energy efficiency. The European Regional Development Fund will support building resilience to climate change by improving the urban environment and ensuring the supply of clean water. EU funds will also facilitate the transition towards a circular and resource-efficient economy.
Moreover, the programme will contribute to development of both urban and regional mobility through investments in roads and public transport, including through the purchase of rolling stock.
EU funds will provide comprehensive support to improve access to employment, including the disadvantaged groups. The programme also responds the need to help to adapt workers and employers to changes. The funding will enhance access to care and living services supporting families and people at risk of poverty or social exclusion, including the elderly, persons with disabilities, children, migrants and other persons in need of support.
