Programme description
The main objectives of the programme are:
- strengthening and making effective use of the region's economic and social potential,
- supporting entrepreneurial attitudes,
- fostering sustainable and intelligent development of the region aimed at high quality of life and security of its inhabitants.
The programme will increase businesses' commitment to research and development, implementing innovative technologies in productive processes while both small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and the public sectors undergo digitalisation. In line with the regional smart specialisations, the progamme will strengthen the productivity and innovation of SMEs by encouraging skills development.
In the area of environment and climate, the region will carry on its actions to improve the management of water supplies and wastewater, such as developing small retention measures. Climate change adaptation will include interventions to increase energy efficiency and the establishment of advisory systems to foster climate neutrality.
Regarding mobility, the programme will address the pitfalls of urban and regional public transport, including issues of accessibility. Furthermore, the region plans investments to improve road safety, including for non-motorised users, while buying zero-emission rolling stock and building charging/refuelling infrastructure for zero-emission vehicles.
The programme will invest in deinsitutionalised social and health services (mainly targeted at primary healthcare and ambulatory care) while supporting cultural institutions and the valorisation of cultural heritage. The programme will also focus on ensuring adequate support to find employment for people currently at a disadvantageon the labour market (e.g. women, young people, the long-term unemployed).
Finally, the programme will implement the territorial policy through support of investment areas, health resorts, tourism, culture, renovation of public spaces, socio-economic revitalization and increasing the administrative capacity of the Integrated Territorial Investments.
