Programme description
With the support of the European Regional Development Fund, the programme will contribute to a smarter Europe by improving conditions for research and innovation. This will be done by strengthening the links between domestic SMEs and Technical Universities aiming to ensure that the region’s enterprises remain competitive and productive.
Efforts towards a greener, low-carbon Europe will be made by improving energy efficiency of residential homes. This will reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the programme area. The support will target households in or at risk of energy poverty.
Measures to increase the use of existing under-used buildings will be taken to create new homes to address problems of dereliction and vacancy in towns and to support regeneration of those areas to make them viable. This approach is in line with the New European Bauhaus initiative and creates the potential to realise beautiful, sustainable, and inclusive projects.
