Programme description
The programme aims to support economic recovery and to remedy to the economic downturn caused by the health crisis. Through its support to economic interventions, the EU intends to strengthen the social development of the territory.
Moreover, the programme counterbalances major structural investment gaps, especially regarding the access to drinking water, wastewater management and transport infrastructure.
The EU support will invest in the region’s economy by fostering the sustainable growth and competitiveness of small and medium enterprises. The programme also supports the urban mobility in Mamoudzou and aims to stimulate local business coherently with models of circular economy.
Due to strong needs of the territory, the EU support contributes to develop education infrastructure, social housing and health infrastructure.
Another priority of the program is to improve the international connectivity of Mayotte; especially regarding the port and the airport. Such interventions will improve the mobility for both people and goods.
