Programme description
The programme aims to support economic recovery and to limit the economic downturn of the health crisis. It seeks to do so by supporting economic measures and by strengthening the social development of the territory. Moreover, it helps to make up for structural investment gaps; like transport infrastructure or better access to drinking water.
The EU support will enable research and innovation for small and medium enterprises, thus transforming the region’s economy. Coherently with environmental goals, the programme also invests in actions towards sustainable water use, circular economy and urban mobility - like the sustainable bus system in Cayenne.
Due to specific local needs, the EU support contributes to develop education and training infrastructure combined with lifelong learning actions, active inclusion and health services measures as well as social integration of people at the risk of poverty.
One of the priorities of the programme is to improve connectivity infrastructure; especially for isolated communes. This means that it will improve transport of people and goods to these territories.
