Programme description
The programme aims to make the region more attractive, innovative, green and inclusive through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), European Social Fund (ESF+) and specific allocations for outermost regions. In doing so, investment into the green and digital transition will play a key role.
EU funds will help transforming the Martinique’s economy by fostering the development of the digital sector including through the digitalisation of small enterprises.
Cohesion funds will also be mobilised for the region's green transition, which entails the adaptation to climate change, the support for sustainable urban mobility and measures to ensure a safe and sustainable water supply.
In addition, the programme will foster social inclusion, with a focus on the needs of youth, and will target the high unemployment rate. EU funds will foster citizen’s participation, a better access to services and health care as well as education infrastructures.
The budget will also push for a more sustainable and homogenous transport system between urban and rural areas. This will effectively “open up” Martinique cities and support the integrated development of both cities and their surroundings.
