Programme description

The Programme seeks to upgrade the role of the Region, in its economic, social and environmental dimension, promoting its regional economy, its socio-economic inclusion and strengthening its touristic and cultural identity.

Through the support of the ERDF and ESF+ funds, the Programme aims to strengthen social cohesion and social integration of various disadvantaged groups, invest in greener energy solutions, preserve and restore ecosystems and biodiversity and adapt to climate change by implementing risk prevention interventions and improving resilience to natural disasters. Citizens will benefit from energy efficiency upgrade in public buildings, upgraded water and wastewater facilities, improved and more accessible educational and health care and social facilities, improved transport infrastructure with increased road safety and equal access to the labor market and to social services.

In addition, the Programme aims at strengthening regional productivity by linking research and innovation with entrepreneurship, supporting local research infrastructure and expanding digitally both the public and private sector.

Finally, the Programme also includes interventions to support sustainable and Integrated Territorial development of urban, rural and coastal areas, and to valorise underdeveloped and disadvantaged areas with significant natural beauty and cultural value with a view to create new jobs.
