Programme ERDF 2021-2027 Schleswig-Holstein

Programme description

The programme supports Schleswig-Holstein in its efforts to improve its research and innovation capacity and increase its attractiveness as a research hub in the areas which showed promise in the past funding period (e.g. medical robotics, sustainable marine transport, bio-economy, renewable energies). The programme will also support small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to explore new methods, greener and aim for new markets.

Digitalisation will be improved by bundling the regional capacities to plan and implement projects and by creating hubs for artificial intelligence. The “Digital Learning Campus” will bring together businesses, educational facilities, and citizens.

Schleswig-Holstein excels in renewable energy production with wind, sun and biogas. 40% of the EU contribution will go to climate protection measures. Besides investments in energy efficiency in public buildings, EU funds will showcase innovative ways to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and storage capacity of renewables and thus accelerate the energy transition. In the field of environmental protection, key measures include resource efficiency through circular economy, decontamination as well as land restoration for future green infrastructure.

The programme will support sustainable urban mobility and sustainable integrated development of tourism in structurally weak rural areas. This will strengthen the involvement and ownership of local communities.
