Programme description

The programme focuses on innovation and competitiveness of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as on climate and environment protection.

Bavaria supports flood protection as a project of strategic importance. Flood protection measures play a key role for Bavaria’s efforts in climate adaptation. For the first time this includes nature-based solutions.

One particular goal of Bavaria is to strengthen employment and growth in its structurally weak parts. At least 60% of the programme resources are spent in these regions.

EU-funds support municipalities to rehabilitate and find new usage for old industrial and other contaminated sites. Green investments help to increase the energy efficiency of communal infrastructures.
