Programme description
The Alpine region is disproportionally affected by climate change, loss of biodiversity and natural hazards. The transnational Interreg programme aims to address these challenges, making the region greener and more resilient through the implementation of the EU Green Deal in one of the most innovative regions in Europe.
The programme has divided its actions in four complementary objectives, namely:
- A climate resilient and green alpine region, to mitigate the climatic change that is already happening in the alpine region,
- A carbon neutral and resource sensitive alpine region, to make sure the region reduces its emissions and contributes to the climate objectives for the entire EU,
- Innovation and digitalisation supporting a green alpine region, to harness the positive effects of technological possibilities and the innovative potential of the region
- A cooperatively managed and developed alpine region seeking complementarity with the EU strategy for the Alpine region and administrative capacity.
