Programme description
The Operational Programme (OP) for support from the ESF in the Italian region of Campania for the period 2014-2020 has a volume of €837 million, of which almost €628 come from the EU budget.
Planned initiatives under this OP will substantially contribute to the region’s ability to achieve the key EU and national development priorities in the field of employment, social inclusion and education. The overall objective of the programme is to contribute to smart, sustainable and inclusive growth by intervening on employment, education and training in a reinforced social dimension.
Investments will focus on these main priorities:
- 42% of the OP resources are allocated to strengthening employment and labour mobility. This includes measures to improve the employability of job seekers and support their transition to employment, improvement of the public employment service, or initiatives that help workers and enterprises adapt to change. A particular focus is on supporting long-term unemployed, women, and young people.
- 22% of the OP budget will be dedicated to promoting active inclusion and fighting poverty through actions addressed to disadvantaged people.
- 30% of the OP resources are allocated to reduce and prevent early school leaving (one of the EU2020 headline targets) and improving the transition between education and work and strengthening vocational and education systems, including dual system schemes.
It is expected that this programme will result in work or training opportunities for more than 10,000 young people currently not in Education, employment or training (NEET). Social inclusion measures should reach more than 40,000 disadvantaged people. Interventions to reduce the number of early school leavers will be targeting over 100,000 young people. The efficiency of the public administration should be increased through training of more than 3000 employees.
