POR Friuli Venezia Giulia ESF
Programme description
Italy’s Friuli Venezia Giulia region is directing training, education and better social services at jobseekers and disadvantaged groups for social inclusion and growth.
The ESF operational programme (OP) 2014-2020 for the Friuli Venezia Giulia region in Italy supports key EU and Italian priorities for the region, focusing on social inclusion and sustainable growth through employment, education and training. Worth EUR 276.4 million, the OP will receive 50% of its funding from the EU budget.
Priorities for the OP are as follows:
- The largest part of the OP (54%) will boost workers’ and jobseekers’ employability. Measures will address the specific challenges of youth and female unemployment, help workers adapt to change and modernise public employment services. Support in finding work will be targeted at young people, jobseekers and inactive people.
- Education and training measures will increase knowledge and skills among the workforce by giving equal access to lifelong learning for all age groups. They will also enhance higher education’s quality and efficiency, and make education and training services more relevant to the labour market. Greater cooperation between universities, research centres and companies is central to this last aim.
- Active inclusion measures and improved services will help people to overcome barriers to work so that they can participate more fully in society. With 20% of the programme’s funds, these measures will prioritise access to work for disabled people and other disadvantaged groups and improve care services for 0-3 year-olds.
It is expected that in total, the programme will assist 57 830 unemployed people in gaining access to work, help 4 800 disadvantaged people, and offer education and training to 8 000 inactive people.
Institutional and administrative capacity-building measures will underpin these targets.
