Programme description
Main objectives
The programme aims to support regional, decentralised economic development and an increase in employment based on local resources. The programme allocates more than EUR 1 billion to integrated sustainable urban development actions in the framework of a dedicated priority.
Funding priorities
The Programme will focus on the following priorities:(1) Creating local conditions to boost economic growth and increase employment (2) Enterprise friendly and population preserving urban development
- the development of green urban areas and the development of small scale environmental protection infrastructure
- sustainable urban transport development
- improving the energy efficiency of local government buildings
- development and expansion of public services
- development of deprived urban areas
- strengthening of local communities and cooperation
Expected Impacts
- 129 600 people in disadvantaged areas to benefit from urban rehabilitation;
- 1.6 million visits/year to supported cultural and natural heritage sites;
- An annual decrease in CO2 emissions of nearly 56,000 tons;
- 1,465 primary care services developed;
- 17 750 newly developed childcare places for 0-3-year-old children
- 2122 ha of upgraded or newly contracted industrial sites and parks
