Programme description

Main objectives

The Interreg IPA Cooperation Programme Croatia Bosnia and Herzegovina-Montenegro 2014-2020 is designed to strengthen the social, economic and territorial development of the cross-border area between Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. 

Through the implementation of joint projects and activities, the programme will become a key enabler for generating smart solutions to the needs and the challenges of the people living in those regions.

Funding priorities

The Programme focuses on five main priorities:

  • Improving the quality of the services in the public health and social care sector.

  • Protecting the environment and nature, improving risk prevention and promoting sustainable energy and energy efficiency.

  • Contributing to the development of tourism and the preservation of cultural and natural heritage.

  • Enhancing regional competitiveness and the development of business environment.

  • Providing technical assistance to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the management and the implementation of the Programme.

Expected impacts

Intensified cooperation for creating common impacts:

  • Enhanced accessibility to and effectiveness of public health and social care institutions.

  • Protected environment and biodiversity through improved management systems for risk prevention and the utilization of renewable energy resources and energy efficiency.

  • Diversification in tourism offers stimulating the sustainable use of cultural and natural heritage.

  • The unleash of clustering activities so to enable processes of innovation, development of new technologies and ICT solutions.
