Programme description
Main objectives
The ERDF-ESF Operational Programme for Basse-Normandie aims to boost economic growth in the region and contributes to achieve the Europe 2020 targets for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. Through investments that will support the knowledge economy, SMEs and the transition towards a low carbon economy, It should create jobs and boost productivity. About 21% of the budget will be allocated to the adaptation to climate change and about 10% to integrated actions for sustainable urban development.
Funding priorities
The Programme will focus on five main priorities:
- Enhance a knowledge society through investments in R&D according to the regional smart specialisation strategy
- Enhancing access to, and use of ICT and support to e-society
- Boost growth in SMEs
- Transition to a low carbon economy
- Sustain integrated urban development
- Stimulate an inclusive learning society
- Conserving and developing natural and cultural heritage and revitalise cities
Expected impacts
- Creation of 500 innovating companies
- 180 companies cooperating with research centres
- Increase the regional survival rate of SMEs than the national average
- extend the deployment of broadband and dissemination of high-speed networks
- increase the production of renewable energy and reduce CO2 emissions
- raise the skills level of the most poorly-qualified citizens to support their integration in employment
- increase the tourist frequentation while preserving the integrity of the natural and cultural regional heritage
