Main objectives
The ERDF-ESF Programme for Picardie aims to boost economic growth and employment through a logic of energy transition and innovation, to place the young people in the centre of public intervention through notably the global regional educational programme - The Picardie region benefits from the Youth Employment Initiative -, to offer a good quality of life and to support the eco-development, contributing to achieve the Europe 2020 targets for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth in a region facing a strong demographic growth. 31% of the overall budget is allocated to research, innovation and competitiveness of SMEs and 17,71% to low carbon economy. to tackle youth unemployment
Funding priorities
The Programme will focus on the following priorities:
- Increasing research activities in particular in the sectors identified in the Smart Specialisation Strategy
- Improving SMEs' size and competitiveness in particular in the sectors identified in the Smart Specialisation Strategy
- Improving broadband access and developing its use and its quality (economic activity areas, schools, universities, hospitals, unemployed…)
- Encouraging low carbon economy (renewable energies, energy efficiency in buildings, housing and enterprises)
- Improving risk prevention (floods and coastal risks) and promoting biodiversity
- Protecting environment and encouraging the use of sustainable resources
- Investing in education, skills and lifelong learning
- Boosting qualifications and ongoing training among young people through the Youth Employment Initiative
- Promoting social inclusion and fighting poverty, notably through support to the social economy and social enterprises
- Sustainable integrated urban development
Expected impacts
- Increase up to 23% the use of renewable sources of energy
- Increase the number of sockets for broadband access to 500 000
- Produce additional 13 748 Gwh from renewable sources of energy
- Reduce to 11 750 tones the green housing gas emissions and from 21 377 to 18 886 GWh the consumption of energy in the private housing and tertiary sector.
- Increase the number of infrastructures (housing and services) to vulnerable population
- Reduced youth unemployment
